Garage Sale Saturday

So, we had our garage sale on Saturday. It was a LOT of work, but it was fun. We shared the day with two other families--the Gunter's and the Vitaro's--so that made it even better. We started off around 8am, and driving over to the Vitaro house, I noticed a balloon landing in one of the fields by our house. It was just a little pick-me-up to start my day!!

After we had all of our stuff unpacked and laid out, it was shocking. Couldn't believe all of the "items" we had to sell. Believe me, there could have been more too, we were conservative when getting things ready.

I can now say that the Smith household is without any baby paraphanalia now, *sniff*sniff*. It was bittersweet to sell the outgrown clothing, baby swing & highchairs, car seats, and push toys, that had been clogging my basement and garage. It was freeing but also sort of sad--end of a stage for us...but I am looking forward to ones coming up!
The kids had a great time during the sale. They had a water balloon war, played with a Corgi puppy, played in the slip & slide, and when we adults got depressed because of the weather, the kiddos cheered us up immediately by reminding us how much fun it is to play in the rain.

When all was said and done, the 3 families took in about $200. I really didn't think all of that work was worth the money @ first, but when you add in the laughs, jokes, smiles, and stories, we all made out like bandits!!!
